The CRC Planning & Government Services staff members have recently begun keeping a GIS database of various permits and planned projects in the counties of our jurisdiction. This includes SPA (Shoreline Protection Act) Permits, DNR’s National Register of Historic Places and Public Notices, as well as planned Projects from GDOT. The information is saved into mapped layers and key details relating to the nature of the item and which agency it belongs to, are saved in the geodatabase. Documents relating to these projects from GDOT as well as from other regional agencies are mailed to the CRC on a continual basis, and the Planning staff plans to incorporate these mapping tasks as an ongoing project for our GIS database.
